www.waterpolls.org  is an interesting website. As the name suggests it is full of information garnered about water from polling the public (US public in this case) and a lot of different surveys are freely available to access. A couple of things jumped out at us. The first is that just one third of US citizens drink water straight from the tap. The second is that whilst almost 90% of Californians are willing to use recycled water for watering lawns and flushing toilets, the figure falls to around 20% for bathing or cooking. So, even after the recent three year drought, most residents in California do not want to use recycled water in their homes. But in Namibia they have been turning wastewater into drinking water since 1968, as this interesting article explains.
